“Valley Soccer Academy Emerges 17 & Under Soccerama Champions”

Valley Soccer Academy emerge winners of the 17 and Under Soccerama organized by the VSADC Youth Academy at the Corinth Playing Field on Thursday June 19, 2014.

On a wet and muddy outfield affected by torrential overnight rain that continued into the morning, Valley Soccer Academy opened the tournament with a well-earned deserved 1 goal to nil victory over Gros Islet. The next game they got the better of Marchand 3 goals to nil, before making light work of VSADC Under 15 4 goals to nil  .

After 3 rounds of the soccerama Valley Soccer Academy was leading the points table with 9 points from 3 wins, and with 4 of their key players in Lael Cheer, Avian Girard, Harrison Moffat and Bradley Cyril leaving to attend a National Under 17 engagement at the Sab, the remaining players bolstered by the addition of Erik Foster, Mekhi Charles, Mykal Branford and Ronaldo Degazon secured 2 goalless draws, the first against VSADC U17 and then runners up GMC U17 to emerge winners.

At the closing ceremony Valley Soccer Academy’s Lyndon Desir was judged to be the tournament MVP for having 5 Shut Outs, while Captain Jesus Husbands received the first place trophy on behalf of a very happy Valley Soccer Academy team.
